Extension Services

History
In recognition of the vital role of community extension services in the life of the university, a task force on community extension programs and services was organized in November 1989 with the main purpose of recommending policies and programs designed to actualize the concept of "Malasakit sa Kapwa, Malasakit sa Madla", the administration's philosophy of a caring university.

In June 1990, the Faculty Development Work Conference focused on the social vision and mission of the university and strongly endorsed the creation of an office to take charge of the administration and coordination of the university's extension programs and services. On October 10, 1990, the Board of Regents on its 230th regular meeting, approved Resolution No. 1411 creating the University Extension Programs and Services (UNEPS).

On May 3, 1993, the UNEPS was renamed as Center for University Extension Services (CUES) and was placed under the Office of the President. This move affirmed the significant role of extension in the triadic function of PLM as an institution of higher learning.

The extension services continue to discover and rediscover innovations to realize the relevant and responsive strategies, programs, services, and projects through participatory and transformational approach responsively transforming vision and mission of the extension
