Franklin Castro of PDSPO receives a 25-year loyalty service awardThe Annual Service Awards Program, held after the University Convocation, feted some 253 employees for  service excellence.  

Model Employee
Evelyn Magat, a computer operator at the Cash Office, was awarded Model Employee. This major award is given to an employee on Evelyn Magat of the Cash Office poses with EVP Maceda, USec Anenias and VPAA Santos the basis of the sum total of her qualities as a dependable worker. The awardee has been observed to consistently put her best efforts in her specific job assignmentnts which had practical or tangible benefits to the operation of the Cash office. She has demonstrated very responsible, steady, purposeful, and hardworking attitude in carrying out her assigned tasks even without her superior's guidance and supervision. Moreover, the awardee has demonstrated courtesy, good manners and right conduct in dealing with the public, her superiors, and peers.

Best Employees
Evangeline T. Abulad (HRDO), Cherry D. Lang-es (Treasurer's Office), Ma. Cristina R. Reyes (OSecU), and Eduardo G. Ronquillo (Budget Office) have been named Best Employees. The Best Employee award is given to employees who excelled among peers in a functional group, position or profession. The awardees were chosen for exhibiting commendable performance in their respective offices, a high sense of responsibility and initiative, integrity and moral uprightness and loyalty. They have also demonstrated industry, efficiency, and effectiveness in carrying out their assignments. Punctuality and regularity in reporting for work have become their mark.

Service Awards
Service Awards were handed out to two retirees, Mr. Carlos D. Binag and Dean Corazon S.Bumanglag.  Both haveserved the University for at least 30 years of satisfactory service, specifically 30 and 33 years, respectively.Ariston G. Acuin receives a 20-year Loyalty Service Award

Loyalty Service Awards
Loyalty Service Awards were also given to employees who have served the University continuously and satisfactorily for 40, 35, 25, 20, 15, and 10 years. The awardees were led by Mrs. Rebecca M. Jocson, University Librarian, and Mr. Edgardo P. Jiao, Electrician Foreman of PDSPO, who this year has served PLM for 40 and 35 years, respectively.

Special Citation
Ms. Fe T. Cawit, Chief of the University Security Group, was given a special citation. The awardee is cited for her commandable sense of duty, ability to lead her staff, and commitment to doing her share in realizing the University's goals and objectives. Ms. Cawit has earned the respect and affection of her subordinates for her exemplary dedication and sense of responsibility, making her a most admired and well-liked personality in the University.

Most Punctual Perfect Attendance
Ms. Veneria S. Torrecampo of PDSPO was accorded the Most Punctual Perfect Attendance award in recognition for having incurred no absence, tardiness or even half-day attendance in her workplace for the period 01 May 2008 to 30 April 2009.

Career & Self-Development AwardsProf. San Pedro of CET receives a Career & Self-Development Award
The Award is given in recognition of an employee's completion of a course or a degree within or outside the country while employed in the Univesrity. Without jeopardizing assigned tasks and responsibilities, but rather contributed to his growth and development. The awardees were:

Program

Showcasing a spectacular opening salvo of parade of honors for the awardees, the ceremonies were made meaningful to the awardees as surprise numbers have serenaded them. The newly-formed PLM Choir took the centerstage to render a medley of songs. Select crooners from various offices were clad in modern Filipiniana costume of red and white.

PLM is staffed with talents as proven once again by a wonderful dance number to the tune of the Pussycat Doll's "Jai Ho!"

PRAISE Committee
The Program on Awards and Incentives for Service Excellence (PRAISE) Committee is in charge of the service excellence awards. It is chaired by Atty. Ernesto P. Maceda Jr., Executive Vice President. He is assisted by Mr. Danilo A. Baluyot, Vice President for Administration, as Vice-Chairman. Its members are Mrs. Angelita G. Solis, Dean Eloisa M. Macalinao, Mr. Manuel C. Ronsairo, and its secretary is Ms. Ma. Rolena R. Calinisan.
