30 January 2010
ABS-CBN's radio outfit DZMM launched its election campaign “DZMM Halalan 2010: Ang Bayan Naman!” with a forum right at the grounds of PLM, exactly 100 days from the 2010 automated elections. The forum fixed its focus on the concerns of Filipinos, voters, and even non-voters, instead of that of the political candidates. It was broadcasted live Saturday (Jan 30), 4pm over DZMM Radyo Patrol 630 and DZMM TeleRadyo (SkyCable Channel 26).
Radio listeners across the nation have participated in the forum as DZMM Radyo Patrol reporters were on full alert in Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao to relay their questions in real-time. It was also streamed live by abs-cbnNEWS.com, enabling the viewers to send in their comments and questions thru www.abs-cbnnews.com/dzmmliveevents.
The live forum aims to familiarize Filipinos from different sectors with the poll automation system and to address their issues related to the elections with the help of the Commission on Elections (Comelec), election law experts, teachers, IT experts, and poll watch groups.
Attending the event were Comelec commissioners Greg Larrazabal, Ferdinand Rafanan, Rene Mariano, and spokesperson James Jimenez. The forum was anchored by DZMM’s Gerry Baja, Anthony Taberna, Henry Omaga-Diaz, and Nina Corpuz.
The event was held at the Justo Albert Auditorium and was coordinated internally by the Office of Student Development and Services.
