44th Commencement Exercises in historic Manila Hotel

25 March 2012

After hurdling in victory 4 or 5 years of their life in the mettle of academic learning, a total of 2,243 graduates marched through a new horizon in their life. They received the fruit of their scholastic labors, the diploma and the concomitant degree, at the backdrop of a cultural heritage and national pride that is the Manila Hotel.

Exactly 100 years after Manila Hotel opened in 1912, it opens its doors to PLM for the latter's 44th Commencement Exercises -- a first for the local university. The oldest premier hotel in the Philippines, the Manila Hotel is a Philippine landmark that continues to be a venue for grand aspirations and historic events.

This year, the Manila hotel celebrates its milestone existence as a distinct source of pride for the country. Significantly, the choice of Manila Hotel, as the venue for the graduation rites of a pioneering institution that is PLM, resonates with the latter's desire to cap the milestone achievements of its outstanding graduates.

With no less the city mayor Alfredo Lim and noted alumna Wilma Galvante sending them off as commencement speakers, fittingly, the choice of the venue serves as a testament to PLM's intent to inspire its graduates even more as they are sent off to conquer new and uncharted horizons where they may flourish as a source of national pride like the Manila Hotel.
