2 physical therapy graduates included among Top 10

The College of Physical Therapy of the Pamantasan ng Lunsod ng Maynila once again lived up to its reputation as the No.1 physical therapy school in the Philippines as it posted a perfect 100% passing rate in the licensure examinations given last August 6-7, 2016.

"All the 41 PLM graduates who took the exams passed," CPT Dean Alan P. Magpantay, said. "All of them were first-takers. There were no exam retakers."

To bring further honor to the college and university, two PLM graduates placed in the Top 10. Elysha Jane Dalangin Rosales took the sixth spot with a grade of 88.55%, while Krystle Ventura Hermogenes placed eighth with a grade of 88.15%.

PLM was one of only two schools that had two Top 10 placers in the latest board exams.

"I extend my warmest congratulations to Elysha, Krystle and all their batchmates for their splendid performance," Dr. Maria Leonora V. de Jesus, PLM president, said. "Congratulations as well to Dean Magpantay and the CPT faculty for their hard work and dedication that enable the college to score board triumphs every year."

Doing well in the licensure exams has, in fact, become an annual occurrence for the college. In the August 2015 exams, it posted a passing rate of 94.23%, well above the national passing rate of 62.94%. Two PLM graduates were also in the Top 10, capturing the third and fourth spots.

In August 2012, two PLM graduates tied for first place to make CPT the only college in the University to score a double Top 1 in the board exams. Meanwhile, for three consecutive years, the college posted 100% passing rates in the board exams, with all 47 takers in July 2009, all 44 takers in July 2010 and all 60 takers in July 2011 successfully hurdling the exams.
