11 February 2010, Lecture Forum on International Religious Freedom: The forum was jointly hosted by the Embassy of the United States, the PLM College of Liberal Arts and the University Library. In recent times, PLM has actively brought in many distinguished international figures from various persuasions and backgrounds to interact directly with PLM scholars so as to broaden their knowledge or open them to diverse horizons.

Serving as the main resource speaker is Imam Talal Y. Eid, Commissioner of the United States Commission on International Religious Freedom. A doctor of theology from Harvard Divinity School and Islamic law degree holder from Egypt's Al-Azhar University, he is the founder and executive religious director of the Islamic Institute of Boston, Massachusetts. He is also the chairperson of the Majlis Ash-Shura (Committee on Islamic Consultation) of the Islamic Council of New England for 2 decades, and currently serves as the Muslim chaplain at Brandeis University and at the Massachusetts General Hospital.

Part of the delegation are S. Najlaa Abdus-Samad, US Department of State's cultural affairs officer, and Ms. Reysa Alenzuela, director of the Thomas Jefferson Information Center in the US Embassy.

Dr. Eid receives a plaque of appreciation from Ms. Rebecca M. Jocson, chief librarian of the PLM Celso Al Carunungan Memorial Library. Assisting are Ms. Abdus-Samad, OIC-Dean Evelyn L. Sebastian of CLA and Ms. Alenzuela. Dean Esperanza B. Bautista of the Emeritus College later joined the group.

Interesting as the topic was, many faculty members and scholars have interposed queries to Dr. Eid.
