Photojournal - June 2010

19 June 2010, Ginoo at Binibining Pamantasan 2010: The most awaited event of the annual foundation celebration got more exciting as the candidates became ambassadors of goodwill for the event's advocacy: Gender Equality. PLM takes an inequivocal stand in eradicating all stereotyped prejudices against gender. This requires wide-ranging changes in a chauvinist culture by confronting stumbling blocks that proscribes the equalization of all opportunities for all genders. Gender-equality connotes gender sensitivity -- sensitivity of one gender to the capabilities and limitations of the other.

The candidates in their advocacy shirt that goes: "Social equality for both sexes." For generations, chauvinism has gripped the societies and cultures in almost every nook and cranny of the globe. Time has come that biases against genders have grown irrelevant -- blurring and erasing the line that has drawn one from the other. Today, both sexes stand side by side in perfect harmony.
Through the Supreme Student Council, PLM is shaping a new culture that is based on enlightened principles like the advocacies that PLM will surely carry the whole Sapphire year through, one of which is "gender equality."

Led by the Supreme Student Council president, the masters of ceremonies kept the night lively and engaging for all the audience -- with all the colleges' cheerers raising their highest pitch of voice with matching cheering paraphernalia in the full-packed University Activity Center.
